We won this argument, and fully integrated scheduling/timekeeping suites from vendors like Kronos were the result.
Now there is a new realization just dawning on the HCM world: we need much more integration. The potential cost savings, and the demands of mobile-savvy employees, will demand it.
"In the mobile millennial future workplace, perhaps 5 years from now, Payroll, Timekeeping, Scheduling, Daily Supervision, and Performance Management will be integrated into a single mobile app used every day, all day by employees and supervisors alike. This will create double-digit productivity gains across the corporate world. Managers of the future will look back and scratch their heads, wondering how we could have allowed these functions to exist in silos."
All of the innovation in the HCM and WFM markets happening today, lead to this inevitable goal. Vendors who being working now will be the winners later.
This system will be:
- Contextual: we know where in the building the employee is when they arrive for the day
- Predictive: we predict what the employee should do next and where we should send them, to maximize their skill set
- Training Centric: our system provides training materials to each employee constantly and intelligently...the system teaches the employee in real time
- Customer Service Focused: we use all of this to provide extraordinary quality of service to the customer...the employee knows exactly where to find this customer and has exactly the knowledge that will best serve this customer's desires at that moment
